Hi guys
My Flight KL610 got delayed for 1h 31m, and arrived on May 4th at 15:56. As a result, I missed my onward connecting flight to DMM (KL425). Fortunately, I was rebooked on the next available flight the following day and was provided with accommodation, a shuttle, and food vouchers.

We boarded the plane on time and began taxiing. However, we suddenly stopped for 50 minutes, and the pilot apologized for the delay. He announced that we were returning to the gate to disembark some passengers. The pilot also mentioned that we might need to refuel the aircraft, but thankfully, we did not need to do so. After this, we were able to take off.

My original flight itinerary:
(KL610) SLC --> AMS [Dept 3 May@21:00, Arrival 4 May@14:25] Delayed for 1h 31m Actual Arrival time (4 May@15:56)
(KL425) AMS --> RUH (1h layover) --> DMM [Dept 4 May@15:40, Arrival 5 May@00:55] Missed this flight due the delay from the previous flight

My new flight itinerary:
(KL445) AMS --> KWI (1h 10m layover) --> BAH [Dept 5 May@13:00, Arrival 5 May@22:25]
(GF101) BAH --> DMM [Dept 6 May@01:35, Arrival 6 May@02:20]

I filed a compensation claim with KLM, and their response stated:
"The flight mentioned above was disrupted due to bad weather conditions. As per EU regulation 261/2004, this is indeed a situation where passengers are not entitled to compensation. Hence, we respectfully deny your request for compensation."

It appears that KLM is using "bad weather" as an excuse to avoid paying compensation. Is it still possible to access the real reason for the delay through Expertflyer.com, even though it has been almost a month?
Do you have any advice on how I can support my claim and challenge KLM's decision?
