I am right in thinking that (as an ordinary customer) you cannot go to GBT directly? It has to be done through an Amex corporate connection?
AmexGBT is our corporate TA, I'm pretty sure they don't offer services to retail customers. They offer chat support directly to employees in my case.
My experience with Amex UK consumer chat in their mobile app has been pretty good as well, but the wait time is usually much longer than the AmexGBT corporate chat support. (Although I believe AmexGBT is completely unrelated to Amex Travel)
