With these two hotels and the forthcoming Kimpton opening in 2025, IHG is building out a stout portfolio in Budapest. Now if only they'd push the owners of the InterContinental to renovate their tired, old property...

I'm looking at the hotels in Budapest for a future trip and for now I can see the Verno House listed as having rooms from 1 Dec 2023 onwards, but nothing is loaded yet. This property certainly looks nice from the two or so pictures made available. I wouldn't mind this one over the ageing IC (which still charges 200 Euro plus for the most basic Classic room) if the price is not astronomical. Even though it is not directly beside the Danube the location is still very central. YMMV.

The D8 Hotel is not yet branded as voco, but seems bookable already and you can stay there. Not sure if they do renovation while remaining open, but rates are sub 100 Euro though location is not so central IIRC.
