BA redemptions to SE Asia are hard to get and you must be organised one year in advance on that magic 355 day window when they open up redemption seats.

This not only applies to Sydney which is the Holy Trail but also Singapore as I couldn't get this on BA.

Hong Kong and Shanghai appear to be the easiest for BA 241's if SE Asia is your stopover using the BA network. but after that 355 day window its luck of the draw. Remember you must have the Avios in your account at point of booking for your partner travelling and they need to be in your BA Executive account either as a Friend or a Household account link.

Currently you must fly BA metal on a 241, if Qatar subsequently allows it up between now & Dec 23 when you book then that's a bonus, But I wouldn't wait after that 355 day window as that's the point you can take control and advantage of the availability. After that magical date its a crapshoot...
