Curtains are not meant to block out Customers, they are meant to:

--Block out light on night flights (personally would like to see heavier curtain blocking material on future curtains)
--Allow the pilots to access or leave the flight deck (Canada Transport requirement)
--To allow a bit of privacy when consuming a meal from our jump seats
