Which Airport has the longest-time crawl from gate to runway under normal conditions?
Our flight on AA left the gate on time but took almost 90 minutes at London Heathrow to make it to the runway. At no point during the process did the pilot say a word about the long cue or give us any indication this was unusual. (It would have been easier if he would have told us in advance that 30 planes were in front of us waiting to take off and it was two miles to the runway.) This happened in clear weather in England and most of Europe.
In 50 years of traveling, I have never waited so long from gate to runway in clear weather. (I have experienced much worse during storms and air travel control emergencies.)
So my question is: What Airport has the largest amount of time from gate to runway under good weather and normal airport conditions? Tell us your stories!
