Premium champagnes usually age for 9 years before they are released to the public. Dom Perignon just launched its 2013 vintage (and SQ would service this if LVMH wouldn't restrict it due to their EK contract), Taittinger Comtes de Champagnes onboard just changed from the 2008 vintage to 2012. And the Krug 169eme that is poured on SQ flights is based on the 2013 harvest.
A 2018 vintage is definitely not in line with industry conventions. The vineyard is selling the
2018 Vilmart Grand Cellier D’Or on their own webpage for 60 EUR:

Given "space constraints" that SQ permanently claims, this will mean mean less bottles of Krug and Taittinger Comtes de Champagne.
Sad!
I -think- this has everything to do with the world running out of top-end champagnes.
