I recently had to spend the night at Munich Airport Hilton due to a delayed flight. LH took care of everything, but was informed while checking in that there would be no diamond benefits because LH paid for the hotel.

I suppose that makes sense, but am curious as to whether that is a hard and fast rule or at the discretion of the individual property?
