As far as I'm aware, the answer is no. Citibank's AAdvantage MasterCard only gives miles for purchases. Even if they did offer miles on balance transfers, the interest rate would likely be higher than it would on other, non-mileage-earning cards. Tell your girlfriend's brother to look for a 0%-for-12-months balance transfer offer. If he can't pay off the entire debt within that 12 months, he can just apply for another 0% card and keep working the system. Never any need to pay the greedy credit card companies more than they deserve (i.e. interest)!
