I flew out of Orlando on Friday and watched the gate agents. There were very few that they asked to check in the bin, maybe 5 or 6 (I watched a few different flights board) and I did see 3 people have to pay a fee. What really surprised me was that people were walking on with multiple backpacks and bags and they definitely were NOT in the #1 boarding group. Guess they were slammed with a holiday weekend and not caring very much.
