I can; I’ve probably seen that happen 3 or 4 times in 5 years.
It’s incredibly simple to use the app and/or print your BP from a kiosk, especially if you are premium or can find the “Carry On Bag Only” kiosks. Unless your phone is dying (that’s why we have battery packs), there really is no need to print a BP when flying on UA.
