I want my baggage to interline in HNL to KOA. I understand I need all the flights to be on one PNR.
When I try to buy an new award ticket for all three legs, it's pricing at 114,000 miles...as I said the HNL segment in F is only 15K and I may just purchase a none way in Y for $59.
I am concerned that if I cancel this itinerary and rebook from scratch, it will reprice the base BOS-LAX_HNL segment at a substantially higher price...Can they add a paid HNL-KOA segment to the record before the hold expires tomorrow so that I can check my bags through to KOA?
No, you won't be able to add the segment, because the award you're holding is not combinable with the HA segment. And you likely won't get the same price again on your award. I'd book it as-is, and find your way to KOA on a separate ticket.
ETA: depending on how far our this is, you might get a big enough schedule change to justify requesting a re-route to KOA rather than your flight to HNL. So I suppose if you can book a refundable ticket HNL-KOA, that would be ideal (but I wouldn't pay substantially more for a refundable ticket just to roll the dice on having a schedule change that makes this work for you).
