No airline allows redemption and cash fares in the same PNR unless it is a 'points plus pay' type of fare. There is no technical way around it.
I will tell you how I was able to successfully do it in 2019. I don't know whether this still works today, as I would need an actual case to try:
1. Open a new Sabre (1B) PNR by entering the exact same passenger name as the award booking.
2. Enter all the KA award segments in GK by using long sell and associate it with the Amadeus (1A) record locator (e.g., 0KA104X07SEPHKGKTMGK1*[Amadeus record locator]).
3. Book the revenue segment (in my case CI) in the same new 1B PNR.
4. Enter the other elements required in the PNR (phone, received from, ticketing time, etc.) and save the PNR.
I then got the CI segment booked in the same 1A PNR created by MPO initially for the award booking. In the 1B PNR, all GK and HK segments are associated with the same 1A record locator. Agency can then proceed to issue the ticket of the CI segment alone. There is no need to take control of the award ticket issued by CX. In this case, the revenue and the award ticket co-exist in the 1A PNR, and all parties (agency, CX/KA, and CI) can see them.
I tried last year (2022) to see if I could do the same thing on 1A (TA user), but in 1A, a TA user cannot enter a CX GK segment even if the correct record is associated, only PK segment is accepted, and I failed to book the revenue and award segment in the same PNR. A new record locator was generated. That's why I only said a Sabre TA might be able to do it.
