What's all that brown gunk in the pool?
Sand. I took that picture from approximately the middle of the kids beach area (i.e. the area shown in the picture below it), as I was cutting across to the other side of the property. The sand was localized to the kids area.
Also I should mention that housekeeping was amazing. And there were four of us with tons of stuff, but every day we came back to a fresh new home.
Another fun touch that I just remembered was the hotel set up late night "munchie" stations -- pizzas, breakfast burritos, etc., at reasonable prices -- for people coming back from Coachella. These were up and running right by the elevators each night when we came back between midnight and 2 a.m. (We got a pizza the one night we didn't do In-N-Out... nothing amazing, but pretty solid for 2 a.m.).
