Yep, don’t expect much in the US if your Diamond - but if you expect nothing then occasionally your might be pleasantly surprised. In APAC/ASIA, however, Diamond tends to be well recognised. I’ve recently stayed at numerous properties in Japan and found them all to have good Diamond recognition, including, full breakfasts (rather than continental) and some room upgrades (noting that the hotels are very busy atm).
