Booked a flight on LH/LX in Premium Economy on LH stock. I want to credit my flights to my UA MP account, but have also applied a Star Alliance Upgrade Award on both segments (ORD-MUC and ZRH-LAX) which have now cleared into Business Class. It looks like it changes my fare class to I which is typically an award fare for which no mileage is earned. Will UA systems be smart enough to pick up this is an upgraded I class booking rather than a straight up award flight in I? Any experience or challenges with getting mileage credited on these types of awards?
