Anything else tho, so another airlines ticket or a connecting itinerary (so basically what you are looking at booking) won’t come with SDC, and any changes would be as per fare rules.

Does it have to be a plus fare? What if it's BA-marketed basic economy fare from USA-MAD via LHR? Since it's a BA fare, can I get a free same-day flight change whether it's BA/IB-operated?
