I bought a 3-day just last week at YUL. The vending machines are as described (albeit kinda hidden behind stairs/stuff - just turn right after exiting arrivals).
It is valid on the 747 bus ... and as a tip: exit at Lionel-Groulx and change to Metro there already. traffic/roads are PITA.
