Any point in going to the enrollment center to update our records with our extension petitions? Really don't want to stand in the long regular line at SFO.

You can't use GE after new stamp.
When I had to do it at EWR, there was a separate line for people who had X on GE receipt(it was the old machines back then).
I didn't use the machine but asked an officer who sent me to that line.
New stamp/797 details were updated in GE at the counter.

AP is almost always sent for secondary screening - so if you ever want to use it, GE will not be an option.
