Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of both dishes on UA882 from HND to ORD this weekend. While both mains were overcooked, the flavors worked well. Glad to see the Japanese offerings back!
As someone who's lived in Japan for many years, I can say that those Japanese meals look atrocious. The taste might have been adequate, but one of the joys of a true Japanese meal is the
presentation. This just looks like UA threw a few Japanese food items onto some plates with no thought regarding presentation.
Domestic F meals in Japan on NH/JL look better than this. And those are 1-hour flights.
