If these are AF flights (performed by AF) you should book with AF and not their partner DL. Better to book direct and not through a partner and then you know the bagage rules etc from the outset. As stated above booking through a partner can turn out to be a nightmare in case of of rebooking due to delay, cancellation etc.

In Economy there is no real difference between most carriers. AF is fine/ a solid carrier. European, not US.
