The only station where it did work for me is Liverpool Lime Street -- it didn't work at Heathrow T2/3, at Paddington, at Leeds, or at Newcastle. (There were a few other stations where I didn't even try it because there was a station staff member directly in my line of vision as I approached the barriers, so it was easier just to show them my phone -- and Liverpool Moorfields and Liverpool Central don't have QR code readers.)
