An EI agent via Chat said that I had a Economy Smart ticket so I didn't need to buy priority boarding to be able to take my 10kg hand baggage onboard. However, the Aer Lingus app says that I have a Saver ticket which according to their website doesn't come with cabin baggage. All very confusing but I take comfort in the information above.
You'll be fine, the BA codeshare flights always have hand luggage included. There is no way for the BA codeshare flights not to have it, so ignore the EI app.
