English was actually surprisingly poor at the hotel. I don't expect or require English to be spoken by the employees at a hotel in a non-English speaking country, but given how much Englishness was apparently infused into the hotel by the design, not much seemed to extend to the staff.
So you don't expect staff to speak any English at European hotels, including ones that are Autograph Collection or similar standard?
