Whether that's worth it to you is a decision only you can make. Personally I think the combination of improved service, higher priority everything, increased rollover, and international PRs would make it a no-brainer for $3k.

You don't need to worry about miles, so you can simply look for a $3k J fare to somewhere you'd like to visit for a week(end) and then you'll be good.
