Just knowing the booking codes doesn't tell you anything really, this will ultimately depend on the specific fare rules.

That said, I've never come across any AA fare that imposes an arbitrary cutoff on when changes can be made like 24 or 48 hours before departure, etc. As long as you cancel or change before the scheduled departure time then you're usually good. But again you just need to double check the rules if this is a concern.
