When I first started using TSA-Pre/KTN circa 2015 had a few cases where it didn't stick in my profile and at check-in the airline couldn't add since they said it it had to be in the record at least 24hrs before check-in opened, not sure if that was a TSA or Airline IT limitation or a made up excuse :-) More recently though I have been able to add at the check-in desk for both DL and AS on a couple of occasions so I'd expect BA can do this for you at check-in
