Thanks guys. Will try asking nicely at check-in. I was offered, and accepted, the option to upgrade to J on the IST-LIS segment of my flight using miles, so I will attempt to join the Business queue at check-in in Mumbai. ( And of course come back to rant if none of this works out 😉
