I flew IB from MAD today. Pushed back exactly on scheduled dep time and arrived early. Almost all my other IB flights have been the same. I have only had one delay with IB that I can recall in the last few years, and that was due to a rejected take off. That said I have booked a few IB flights which were operated by Vueling, and those have been subject to delays.

What was noticeable today was that in the MAD lounge in Terminal 4S the only flight that appeared from the screens to be running late was the BA. I appreciate that operating out of LHR might be challenging, but for me (and I imagine most people) on time performance and reliability is the most important thing. I'm not a huge fan of IB. I prefer BA crew (though IB are better than they used to be whereas BA seem to be heading in the opposite direction) and BA's CE service is maybe a touch more personable. Also IB's Irrops handling and CS seems to be lacking, and in my experience BA are ok on that front, but I find IB reliable where it really counts and, sadly, BA less so. Today IB also managed to get on stand at T3 early and the airbridge attached and door opened in a short period of time, something that BA seems routinely incapable of at its own home base.
