Just keep trying, both on the app and the website (but don’t go ahead and click “standby”). The options will keep changing as you get closer to the flight, and the website and app will have different options.
I did one better - I ended up calling and simply asked if there were other flights available, and noted that I was being offered $400 to take a different flight. And just like that, I was given my choice of other flights to pick from, confirmed, for free.
