The ‘380 worries me a lot. We had an engine tech issue the last time we flew it back in March and it seems that the 193 is beset by delays or cancellations this year.
If you choose the top deck for CW, you will be off first.
By the time the lower airbridge is connected usually the entire top deck is off.

Nothing you can really do about a significant delay and a concierge service obviously can't fix things if your connection has already departed!
I am actually not sure if you can use 5* if flying in with BA. You could drop them an email ([email protected]) and see what they say.
