Post covid I experienced this pre flight where they checked your BP and passport before entering the gate. Was the same agent who checked me in at the premium desk.

Destination: HNL, LAX and IAH
Dates: Sep 2022, Nov 2022 and Dec 2022

AVSEC team were also present with a clipboard randomly questioning travellers. I was ‘picked’ every time and for my flight to HNL he scanned my BP for a good minute or so and noted everything down, questioned where I worked, reasons for travelling etc.
