new Chase agreements

This is a rant.

When I logged into my Chase account today, I was presented with two new agreements: Online and Mobile E-Sign Disclosure and Consent Agreement and Digital Services Agreement, and I was required to accept them before I could continue. Actually, if I recall correctly, I was required to read and accept them. I was not close to halfway through the 10 page Disclosure and Consent Agreement before I was logged off for inactivity. I never ever started on the 124 page Digital Services Agreement, other than to open it. Obviously (to me, at least), Chase does not expect me to read the agreements.

The Online and Mobile E-Sign Disclosure and Consent Agreement includes the following bit about paperless statements, which I have steadfastly declined to accept.
When you consent to this E-Sign Consent, you agree:
If your Account(s) are already enrolled online and you have already indicated a delivery
preference for your existing Accounts, you agree that we may, at our election, convert
your existing paper delivery election to paperless upon notice to you. In addition, if a
new category of Communications becomes eligible for Electronic Delivery after the date
of this E-Sign Consent, we will pre-set your delivery preference to Electronic Delivery for
all new categories of Communications.
• If you are a new online user as of or after the date of this E-Sign Consent, we will pre-set
your delivery preferences to Electronic Delivery for each category of Communications
that is eligible for Electronic Delivery.
• In addition, whether you are already enrolled or are a new online user, we may
automatically send any Communications by Electronic Delivery for any future Accounts
and Services.
It's a bit galling to me that Chase says (with my bolding) that it will provide communications by "electronic messaging (such as e-mail, or SMS text or push notification to your mobile device)" after it removed my ability to get confirmation codes by email. (Yes, there is a thread about how to restore email confirmation codes, but my attempts to follow the instructions have, so far, failed.)

As I said, the Digital Services Agreement is 124 pages, and I have not attempted to tackle it. Probably I will simply click the boxes to accept the new terms, because I want to continue to use Chase credit cards and I want to review activity at the web site. But this certainly strikes me as an abuse of power by Chase. And I only quoted the most offensive (to me) part that I read; there were plenty other offensive parts and plenty that I didn't read.

Am I unreasonable? Am I unusual? Thanks for reading my rant.
