The card was a visa Pathward serviced by Incomm. I still think it was most likely an error on the associate's part. I have since liquidated additional Pathward/Incomm cards at Walmart and Safeway with no issues. I'd like to add that I've been drawing a little heat from this particular Walmart and maybe the associate somehow figured out how to run as credit so it would decline and encourage me not to come back, a little farfetched since she's one of the associates who seems to not care.
Sounds like the same issue I had a few weeks ago. Would swipe card and it never gave me the “Do You Want Cash Back” prompt and no option to enter a PIN, went straight to decline. Tried at three different WM’s, all from CSR’s who I’ve dealt with many times before and same thing happened at all three. Happened for both Sutton’s and Pathwards serviced by InComm. Next day everything was back to normal.
