Based on those (and my personal experiences in a half-dozen stays or so), I can say with some confidence (a) the pool is nice, (b) they did a nice job with room renovations, (c) you're not going to get a Royal Suite upgrade (and may get no upgrade at all, just some front desk attitude), and (d) the overall experience (service, atmosphere, lounge, breakfast, etc.) can be okay, but generally falls mid-pack (at best) compared to similarly priced Bangkok properties.
I am particularly unclear what you are trying to accomplish here, and I don't appreciate you attempting to discredit my experience as you have done in the past (insinuating that I'm a paid shill, etc). I spend a lot of time on these reviews and photos, and I'm not going to wait until I have "dozens of stays" here to post a review. I started traveling in 2020 and can't turn back the clock. Perhaps, I'm not as well-traveled as you, but with over 280 Marriott properties in the past four years, I feel relatively qualified to say what is a good hotel experience in our present times (past of Starwood not included).

Also when you posted your itinerary for Marriott/Bangkok hotels, it was pretty clear you were doing mostly 1-night stays, with maybe a couple of 2-night stays mixed in. (I remember doing that when we were able to qualify for top tier in SPG with 25 stays or 50 nights!) It's much easier to get upgraded on a one or two night stay than it is one 2-week stay. Did you use any SWUs?
Appreciate all the details and don't worry about bias. Every review is from the POV of the author and FTers should be accustomed to reading more than just one review from trusted contributors to get a good idea of what a property is like.

Thank you - no SNAs were used for my reviewed stays so far, but I did use one for my current stay at the Renaissance, which I will post soon.
