- First-time Ambassador guest to the property
- Zero pre-arrival outreach to the property
- On a cash rate below 5K THB for a base Athenee room
- 1 night stay on a Friday night
- Upgrade swiveled between room types in the days leading up to my stay - Athenee Prestige, Royal Club King, and then Royal Suite
Regardless, my review might be biased in your opinion, but it's just my experience.
Thanks for the details about being an ambassador.
Also when you posted your itinerary for Marriott/Bangkok hotels, it was pretty clear you were doing mostly 1-night stays, with maybe a couple of 2-night stays mixed in. (I remember doing that when we were able to qualify for top tier in SPG with 25 stays or 50 nights!) It's much easier to get upgraded on a one or two night stay than it is one 2-week stay. Did you use any SWUs?
Appreciate all the details and don't worry about bias. Every review is from the POV of the author and FTers should be accustomed to reading more than just one review from trusted contributors to get a good idea of what a property is like.
