While there are refundable business fares, not all business fares are refundable. The same is true for economy. This is standard for the airline industry. If you want a refundable business class fare when purchasing on united.com, you may need to select search business fares or go to Advance Search option and select Refundable fares. There is only so much screen space and with Basic Economy, Economy, PremPlus (PremEconomy) and Business -- it is not possible to show all non-refundable and refundable options for all fare types -- but by selecting certain options you can get them to display.

All purchases are fully refundable in the first 24 hours. After 24 hours, non-refundable fares that are cancelled prior to trip start will be issued a credit (Future Flight Credit / FFC) that can be used to book "any" new trip on united.com.
