I have had about a 10-20% upgrade success rate over the last 1.5 years or so as a Diamond. Previous 13 years or so as Diamond, Spire, and whatever else was before Spire, I was upgraded all the time. And what's worse is now I'm getting e-mails prior to my check in that states that my room has been upgraded....only to find out when I get there I actually received no upgrade at all.

I recently stayed at the EVEN MIA, reserving a King Premium Lake View. Two room types above that are King Suite and King Corner suite. Got my upgrade e-mail and checked in to a......King Premium Lake View room. And they were nice enough to put me right next to the elevator and ice machine, even though my room preferences state away from elevator.

And a recent stay at Intercontinental Dublin also triggered a room upgrade email, only to find out upon check in I just received the same room type as I reserved. Now on this one I didn't really expect an upgrade since it was on points, but it kind of stinks to get these e-mails and then not actually receive an upgrade (app also did not reflect upgraded room type in either case...).
