Finnair crew helm qantas flights

Hi All,

I just read this article and am wondering what it entails for AY....a 5th freedom route to Australia from BKK %/ SIN sounds interesting to me. Did do a search of the of AY section but did not find anything, my apologies if there is already an AY thread discussing this. Link posted below

https://australianaviation.com.au/20...antas-flights/

Extracting some quotes which seem to me to indicate a 5th freedom route. "Qantas announced on Friday that codeshare partner Finnair would operate selected A330 flights from Sydney to the city-state from late October and all flights between Sydney and the Thai capital from March next year."

"From late 2025, the aircraft will be fully ‘dry leased’ for up to three years, meaning Qantas pilots and cabin crew will switch to operating the services."

There is however a sentence which I don't understand, "The deal will see Finnair’s own pilots and cabin crew operate Qantas-booked flights for the first two-and-a-half years of the agreement, but customers will receive the Flying Kangaroo’s own food and beverage service, amenities, inflight entertainment and baggage allowance." Does that mean ground handling and catering are set by QF?

anyway, for me, I wonder if would mean being able to benefit from AY+ perks on these flights, free seat assignments, 1+5 lounge access etc

thanks in advance to anyone able to shed more light on this
