I flew in and out of here several times when flights to NYC were crazy expensive 10-15 years ago. I could get to HPN for half the price and then just take the train into the city.
Did the same when especially when I had business up there and then train to the city. Just did it, got of at Penn Station which is now very pleasant after its face lift. Also similar use of MHT for Boston access. Work and family to the north of Boston so makes sense for me. Way less of a traffic issue getting out of BOS. However, I don't see MHT seeing the same demise as HPN.
