I used to like the HC waikiki just fine -- the location is good for shopping and eating (though, the beach is a little bit of a walk), their breakfast was quite good, and the standard suites were often available (unlike the Regency, where I've yet to score TSU availability or gotten comp suite upgrades, on account of their very limited number of standard suites). Now, I won't consider it over the regency on account of the lack of breakfast.
HC also has standard suites that don’t have separate bedrooms. Just a larger room with no divider. Should be illegal to call these suites but that is new trend for hotels.
