You can disregard these type of posts. They are just nitpicking, moaning and crying about the perceived-to-be-small footwell where every single airlines with reverse herringbone seats have almost the same setup, their seats are just angled where SQ's seats are facing straight forward, giving the false perception of an awkward footwell.
Unless you are born with elephant hoofs then a) I'm sorry that's rough, b) SQ J was not designed for you, nor should they.
The seats are the same, there is no best besides the usual avoiding the bassinet row, ones closer to the bathroom or galley. If you want view of the engine then you should sit in a window seat towards the back closer to the wing. I would sit in a smaller section on ULR. Less people = less noise and less bathroom traffic.
