Not for the US visa but I just learnt recently that it does for the Canadian visa. Wanted to cross the border at Niagara Falls last month & was denied because the visa was in the old expired passport. They stated the visa will expire once the passport where it is stamped expires. I confirmed this as well once I got back & it seems to be true.

I had a 7 year Canadian visa. Went there at least a couple of times with it on my old passport. Is this a new rule?
