Not sure if it's the right towns/villages, and this assumes you're not coming in the next 3 weeks as the railway is closed for repairs, but...

You can see some very nice quaint bits of the Cotswolds starting from Moreton in Marsh, trains from London Paddington roughly hourly, journey time 90 minutes. Moreton, Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Hill, Chipping Campden and a bunch of pretty villages are all a short drive from the station. There's a few tour companies who you'll sometimes see dropping people off, or I suspect some of the local taxis will do you a deal for a few hours tour. (I live close so I've not tried any, just seen them about!)
