This is a GS on a paid C ticket (yes, full-fare C, not discounted business). One would think UA's IT systems (policies) would offer something more 'appropriate'? (note: I am not a hotel snob, I just want the closest hotel).
I wonder what happens if I try to submit my hotel cost for reimbursement?
Now we return to to real-world problems...
I am sure they will reimburse you, within reason.

LHR United Club, GS side was at about 50% capacity at around noon. Lots of 1Ks being directed over when I checked in at the desk. Someone asked what the difference was between sides and the desk agent said left is standard United Club and right was 1K and Global Services. Hopefully it’s just a temporary thing as there were plenty of families in there and it just seems like any other Club to me.
The last two times I was there it was the same. 1K/GS mix. Seems the new normal.
