I've been Diamond since 2019 and that status is set to expire 31 Mar 2024. However, I do have an AMEX Surpass Card (Diamond Status w/$40,000 spend in a calendar year). If I hit the spend threshold, let's say, this October, when would my "updated" status expire? Most blogs I've read said that you'd keep the status in the year you earned it and the following year as well. Yet, I was under the impression that, regardless of tier status, expiration is always on March 31st.

Just wondering if my status would expire 31 Dec 2024 or 31 Mar 2025. Maybe I'm overthinking but it would be good to know for future planning purposes. Thanks in advance!
