Tech, fully remote for almost a decade, company I worked for was absorbed by a larger one (also very distributed/remote) during the pandemic, I think they are slowly realising that all the people who interact via Zoom/Slack/mail in different time zones would benefit massively from regular in-person interaction (speaking entirely for myself, after a decade of talking to myself on the interwebs I'm ready to take a job in a convenience store) and anyway on Tuesday my manager's manager (I have never met either) was like "
OK, can you be in Europe next week for a week with all the other co-workers who have never met each other" so here I am preparing for my first work-related flight in 5 years.
