Correct. As 13901 states we have ETOPS 180, whereas JAL/QF etc have ETOPS 330. It is basically all to do with cargo fire suppression and quantities of oxygen carried. Other than flying from Oz to South America and possibly the direct PER -LHR, 180 is normally more than adequate. Closure of vast swathes of airspace over the planet was never envisaged when the order for the 787s was placed. The Polar route is also subject to carrying polar survival gear, BA have recently shrunk the area over the pole that needs to have this Equipment carried, so on occasion the routing will go rather more north over Canada than on other days.
You can look on flightaware and see the filled flight plan for BA 6 and 8 normally. It is mostly airways until Fairbanks or Bethel and then a random route until we exit oceanic airspace back into ‘Scottish’, then airways to the arrival route into LHR.
