Hyatt Centric Waikiki is one the most
notorious property in terms of award stay and therefore for GOH.
If you could take it, use it but little chance I suppose.
First of all, I would save the extra points and go to Hyatt Regency instead. There are 2 threads on those comparisons.
Friends want to use their cat 4 certs and I may throw in a few nights using Guest of Honor for them. Let's assume award nights are available to give Centric benefit of doubts. I have not stay at HP, but I am leaning towards HP for them due to:
1) 12K per night instead of 15K.
2) Have basic standard HP breakfast instead of 1,000 GP points per night rebate.
3) 2 queen beds come with a bonus sofa bed. Might be roomier for family of 4.
4) No weird glass shower/blinds peek show setup at Centric.
5) Rooms with lanai.
Cons for Hyatt Place:
a) No hot tub.
b) Busier and more noise at pool deck?
c) No suntan or after sun lotion by the pool.
d) No self park option for people like me wanting to hold on to my own key.
Thoughts? Is HP the right recommendation for them? Am I missing anything else to support Centric instead?
