BA won't necessarily show you every seat that is available - you can check with ExpertFlyer, or share the flight details here and someone can look it up for you. That will show if the seats are occupied, blocked, or unoccupied but not being offered to you at this time.

In Club World, while the orders may be taken by seat row, meal choice priority is actually based on status which should be reconciled after all orders are taken. i.e. a higher status passenger in row 13 would get priority over a lower status passenger in row 10. So being further forward may not in itself, improve your situation much w.r.t. meals.

I’m booked in 10D. Open to advice and many thanks in advance
I never particularly minded aisle seats in Club World, but many people didn't like them at all because they are very open, with not much privacy. In the LHR-America direction, this is presumably a day flight, if you are not planning on sleeping, 10D and F are perfectly decent options in my mind, but as I say, others seem to really dislike any aisle seat because of its open nature.
